A Mother's Day Secret...

My husband picked the kids up from daycare on Friday... I needed my hair cut and colored desperately.  (A mother's day treat for myself!)  So when I got home from FIXING my hair -- that is what the boys call it...(my cousin) "Jenny, fix it?"--the boys were already in bed...and there were two specially decorated (colored just for me) bags sitting on the kitchen card table (all we have room for as a dining table in the apt.)

So, in the morning Isaac promptly asked me if I had noticed them...I said no and he said "Good!!" with so much excitement... later that evening he must have been thinking about them again...We were in the pickup and he explained in a detailed conversation:  There are 2 bags in the kitchen and they are for somebody else...so don't look in them ok??!  I said OK.. and he was still concerned that I would look...cuz after a few minutes he questioned again.  Are you sure you haven't looked already?  ... No, Isaac I didn't see them ok... because we colored the bag and made something too...oh, but they are for somebody else.  Ok Mommy???

SOOO cute (obviously cannot keep a secret)... So on Sunday morning I finally got to sleep in (much needed day!!)  and Isaac came into the bedroom and said..."Whenever you want to get up Mom...those bags are for you!  I was just teasing you before!"  So whitty huh?!!

When I rolled out of bed the boys were doing puzzles with Daddy (the "Game Closet" is in plain site all the time now -- its a shelf in the living room, so we play games ALL the time now... we played alot before, but even more now!) so, I sat on the futon and awaited the "bags" that were in fact for me!  And it took about 10 minutes and Isaac said..."When are you going to open the surprise?"  I told him I was anxiously waiting!!!.. He ran and got them RIGHT AWAY!

So daycare came through with another great idea and Isaac and Trevor were soooo proud.  Trevor didn't talk about them at all until I was opening his.  I guess he can keep a secret better.  I think he was "told not to tell!!"  but Isaac can't keep a secret about anything, so he wanted to make sure I knew something was up!!

Trevor was so excited explaining his to me.. "See Mommy...polka dots......... flowers...See Mommy, See??!!"

They were perfect!  Love homemade gifts and the pride that shines from the boys!  Very blessed to have 2 wonderful sons in my life!  Motherhood is a job, but more importantly a priviledge!
